Vidya has over 12 years of experience working as a Life, Family and ADHD coach, Educational Consultant and Speech Language Pathologist.  She has also homeschooled her child with special needs. 

Life, Family and

ADHD Coach

Vidya is an ADD Coach Academy Associate Coach (AAC) having completed a fully accredited coach training program at ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA) under pioneers and leaders in the field of ADHD Coaching.  Vidya also completed advanced training specifically in the Fundamentals of ADHD Coaching for Families at ADDCA.  

 

Vidya is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC), a Credential conferred by the International Coach Federation (ICF), and is pursuing further credentialing from the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC).  She abides by the Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics of both organizations.   

Educational Consultant and Parent Coach

Vidya worked as a Developmentalist at the National Association for Child Development (NACD) for over 7 years where her expertise included:

  • Specific strategies to strengthen and improve working memory by increasing auditory and visual sequential processing.

  • Optimization of the neuroplastic learning power of the brain by using high frequency and high interest activities in short bursts.

  • Communication and teaching strategies that match the child’s attention, processing style and maturity level for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

Vidya was also a Parent Coach at NACD.  She consulted with parents on a weekly basis to provide clarity on their children’s home programs,  guide them in completing these programs and help them overcome any obstacles that got in their way.  

Speech Language Pathologist

Vidya is certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and licensed in the state of Washington.  She has a specific interest in executive function challenges. She has learned and applied the following well known programs:

  • Assessing and Treating Executive Function Skills in Children and Adults by Sarah Ward.

  • Social thinking by Michelle Garcia Winner.

  • Story Grammar Marker by  Maryellen Rooney Moreau.

  • Zones of Regulation by Leah Kuypers.

Vidya is the mother of a child with special needs and homeschooled her through high school.   This life experience taught her the critical importance of:

  • having the right tools and strategies at the right time to help your child deal with challenges.

  • finding the supports and resources you need to develop their passions and nurture their strengths.

  • getting help for yourself to deal with the reality of constantly parenting at maximum capacity with minimum self care.
